Ryan, the bass player of my dreams, is in another art show! This time it’s a Science-rific Space Journey with Box Jellyfish drummer and all-around awesome Cell Phones Bestie, Jeff Gessa! An Update! On Things!
Hello! I’m eating pasta salad on my lunch break and decided to spend my golden hour telling you what the band is up to!
1. We’re currently (slowly) working on a FULL-LENGTH ALBUM! We’re working with Caffeinated Recordings, and so far we’ve laid down 4 songs, all of them never-before recorded! It’s sounding splendid, so we’re excited to keep on truckin’!
2. We played a show at Panchos with The Baby Magic and the Vatican Junkies 2 Thursdays ago. It was a hoot and a holler and a deep-tissue crotch rub. If you missed it, no worries! We’ll definitely play with those hot balls again! And again!
3. February is sprinkled with all sorts of awesome events (Black History Month, Ryan’s Birthday, VALENTINE’S DAY), but the only one we’re waiting for is February 27th…that’s when we PLAY THE EMPTY BOTTLE FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!! I don’t really know why they never booked us ‘til now (I emailed them truly every month for years AND we live truly a 5 minute walk away), but we’re on the bill now, thanks to the sweet love of Whales! We’ve been waiting for YEARS to play this venue, and we will not disappoint! We will in fact APPOINT!
Also, I just confirmed a show on April 20th at the Burlington, which seems to be having more and more bands play.
Alas, we had to say no to a show at Cobra Lounge with Get Up With The Get Downs, our favorite James Brown cover band EVER. No, really. They’re amazing. Justin is doing magic for a saucy event that night, but we’ll get a show together soon! We love playing with them, they bring the funk! If you’re not doing anything on 2/11, go to their show! You’ll most likely see one or two of us there!
Aaaaaand, I think that’s it! Art shows, chess, dresses, same old stuff. My pasta salad is in my belly, and I hope you’re having a ball wherever you are! —————L.
